According to the Guinness Book of Records, the largest emerald was found in Madagascar. It is 1.25 meters long and weighs 536 kilograms. The ancient source of the emerald is from Egypt. Emerald has been one of the most sought-after gems for over 5000 years.

They can be found in selected excavated areas around the world, such as Zambia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Madagascar, Colombia, China, Switzerland, Russia, the United States, and Brazil. Colombia produces 50% of the world's emeralds. The Romans and Greeks believed that the Emeralds were representative of the goddess Venus, so they regard it as a symbol of love, hope, and fertility.
